Transfer a Cemetery Reservation

A plot or cemetery space reservation (Perpetual Interment Rights) can be transferred at any time, including after the death of the current Rights Holder.
Transfers may be made to a Next of Kin, Executor of the Will, or another authorised representative. Additional Rights Holders can also be added, provided all existing Rights Holders give consent.

If a Rights Holder passes away

  • If there are multiple Rights Holders, the rights automatically transfer to the surviving holders.
  • City of Newcastle should be notified so records can be updated.
  • If the deceased was the sole Rights Holder, the transfer can be requested as part of the Order for Internment Application.
