Hoarding
Hoarding Application
A hoarding is a temporary structure used to enclose a footpath or part of the road adjacent to a building site, demolition area, excavation, or construction works. It is designed to protect public safety and prevent damage to road infrastructure.
If your project requires a hoarding, you must apply for approval before installation.
There are two main types of hoarding structures:
Overhead protective structure
A steel-framed structure built over a public space, such as a pedestrian pathway, to provide overhead protection. It separates the construction zone from the public area below.
Protective fence
A solid fence, typically made of plywood attached to a timber or steel frame, at least 2 metres high. It encloses part of the footpath or roadway, with or without scaffolding, to shield the public from the construction site.
