Illegal building works are building activities carried out without the required approvals, or that do not comply with an approved plan.
These works are often identified during property sales or through complaints from neighbours or other parties.

When to use this form

Report to us

  • A structure that has been erected without approval.
  • A building being used for a purpose other than the current property consent stipulates.
  • A pool may be built without consent, appears unsafe or has unsafe fencing.
  • A structure appears dangerous or dilapidated.
  • There is an alleged breach of the development consent.

Submit to us

  • A Written Directions Notice.
  • Certificate of Non-Compliance - Swimming Pool.
  • Request to change Principal Certifier.
  • Surrender a Development Consent.

  3. Once your request has been completed, you will receive a notification. Please note that the completion of your request may mean the investigation has been actioned or scheduled.
