The Pre-Development Application (Pre-DA) service provides tailored, site-specific planning advice to help you understand requirements and risks before lodging a Development Application.

When to use the Pre-DA service

This service is suitable for all types of developments, particularly if your proposal includes:
  • heritage considerations
  • view impacts
  • compliance or planning constraints
  • any proposal where early, detailed advice is needed.

General advice option

If your proposal is straightforward, you can choose an appointment with our Duty Officer instead of the Pre-DA service. The Duty Officer provides general guidance on preparing your Development Application and understanding the process.

What you will need to provide

Application fees

  • Application fees vary based on several factors. To get a quote, simply click the 'Apply Now' button below. You'll be guided through a few quick questions, and we'll provide a tailored fee estimate before you proceed.
  • Additional fees may apply following a full review of your application.
  • If you are applying for a second meeting, we will invoice you the associated fees.

Next steps

Time frames

  • A meeting will be scheduled within 14 days of the application being made.
  • A written response will be provided within 21 days after the application is lodged.
