How we can help!

If you need assistance, such as reporting fallen trees, blocked drains, or damaged roads, please contact us as soon as it's safe to do so. Your report helps crews respond quickly and keep our community safe.

Fallen tree or branch

If you see a fallen tree or branch on public land, let us know so we can arrange removal. If it's a hazard, call us on 4974 2000. Including a photo with your request helps us assess and prioritise urgent matters quickly.

Flooded road

Never drive through a flooded road even shallow water can be dangerous. Instead, report the hazard to the State Emergency Service on 132 500 and City of Newcastle so crews can respond quickly and warn others. Remember: If it's flooded, forget it.

Pothole

Storms can quickly worsen road conditions, and potholes can become serious hazards, especially when hidden by water. If you notice a pothole during a storm, please report it as soon as it's safe to do so. Your report helps road crews respond faster and keeps our streets safer for everyone.

Lost or found pets

If you come across a lost dog or pet during a storm, our Rangers can help. Please let us know where and when you found the animal. Our team will work to reunite it with its family as quickly as possible.

Blocked drain

During storm events, the City provides assistance with blocked drains that present flooding or safety risks. When it is safe to do so, our response teams will work to restore water flow and minimise impacts to the community.

Time frames

During storm events, our response times may be longer than usual. Severe weather can create dangerous conditions, and the safety of our workers must remain the top priority. Please know that while there may be some delays, we will respond to your request as soon as it is safe to do so.
