Deceased Pet

If your cat or dog has sadly passed away, your pets registration record needs to be updated within 28 days.

To arrange this, either:
  • update your pet's status on the NSW Pet Registry or
  • complete the following online form so that we can update the register on your behalf.

Raise a request

Before you begin

  • Have your pets microchip number ready.
  • If your dog had been declared as a menacing, dangerous or restricted, please call our Customer Service Team on 4974 2000 as further information is required before the update can be processed.

Next steps

  1. You'll receive an acknowledgement with your request number.
  2. We will update the NSW Pet Register on your behalf.
  3. Once your request has been completed, you will receive a notification.

Time frames

Our team will aim to process your request within 7 business days.
